Meet the Team

Director

Head of the Commercial team John is responsible for all aspects of sales, acquisitions and letting of commercial property covering the needs of clients throughout Devon and Cornwall and their requirements within the industrial, office and retail sectors, as well as providing investment and development advice. John started practicing in 1985 when he joined Stratton & Holborow in Exeter, later moving to Chesterton in Plymouth and English Partnerships before starting with Monk and Partners in 1996 as Director. His clients range from local to international including public and private sectors. Recent transactions include the sale of the former Plymouth College Prep School premises, a parade of City Centre shops, the acquisition of substantial retail and industrial investments along with a number of industrial lettings/sales and providing marketing and development advice of retail, office and industrial units at the Sherford New Town and Dolbeare Business Park, Ashburton. Outside of work John (aka Henry Slade’s dad) is an ardent follower of rugby as well as being active in other sports including tennis, open water swimming and windsurfing.

Director

Founding member of the firm David has an almost unrivalled level of experience through a diverse range of commercial and residential sectors. Principally responsible for providing professional advice to Banks, Housing Associations, Private Clients, Corporate Clients on both Value and Condition of Residential and Commercial buildings, from landlord to tenant issues, development appraisals and expert witness work.

David has over 30 years as a Chartered Surveyor and a depth of knowledge from all the experiences and variety of cases he has been involved. He is a registered RICS valuer and Licensed Valuer.

Director

Jodie has been part of the Monk and Partners team for over 10 years. A Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer Jodie undertakes both Residential and Commercial Valuations, RICS Homebuyer Reports and Building Surveys for both private and corporate clients. Acting for numerous Housing Associations throughout Devon and Cornwall, acts for corporate clients and pension funds. Advises clients on Landlord and Tenant issues and commercial property requirements.

Jodie loves being outdoors with her family, biking, paddling or swimming in Cornwall.

Specialising in residential property valuation, survey and development appraisal providing advice to lending sources, private and corporate clients. Simon has extensive knowledge within the property market and is involved with the appraisal and acquisition advice to many Housing Associations in Devon and Cornwall.

Simon is an RICS Registered valuer and a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) valuer with over 35 years experience.

Office Manager

Charlie joined Monk and Partners in 2017 and is the first point of contact for clients. Charlie is responsible for the daily organisation of the office and keeping us all in line!

Charlie has a passion for baking and is an avid sports fan. Charlie loves animals and the great outdoors.

Emilie joined the Monk and Partners in 2019 and brought to the team a wealth of skills and experience in office administration. Emilie enjoys dealing directly with clients for queries and ensures all runs efficiently and smoothly.

When not at work Emilie loves spending time with her family, reading and box-fit to let off some steam!

Lorraine joined Monk and Partners early 2022 with 30 years experience working within the Legal Profession. Lorraine brings a wealth of administration experience and the fastest typing skills!

Lorraine is a keen walker and is currently walking sections of the South West Coast Path.
